.The autobiography of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the Missile Man of India and President of India, was published in 1999 and is titled Wings of Fire. He co-wrote it with Arun Tiwari.
In his autobiography, Kalam explores his early years and the struggle, adversity, bravery, good fortune, and chance that eventually led him to oversee the nuclear and missile programmes, as well as space exploration, for India. After earning his degree in aerospace engineering from the Madras Institute of Technology, Kalam began his work with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, where he was tasked with creating a hovercraft prototype. Afterwards, he joined ISRO where he assisted in founding the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and created the first programme for space launch vehicles.
